Griffin's Blessing Day

Griffin West Howe was blessed at his Lambert grandparent's home in Bellevue, WA on July 12, 2020 in a darling outfit made by his Grandma Howe. Many family members were with us, some in person and some virtually, including his Grandma Howe who was on an island in the Outer Banks on the other side of the country - technology is amazing!! This little guy is so loved and we can't wait to see what his future will hold!

Looking handsome and eager for his special day

My dad, brother, and brother-in-laws were there to participate in the blessing

We are so happy to have Griffin here to complete our family!

And just for fun, here is Griffin in the blessing outfit my dad wore. None of my boys were blessed in it, but I did take a picture of each of them wearing it.

Charlie's Blessing Day

Charles Walter Howe was given a name and a blessing last Saturday at his grandparent's home in Plano, Texas. We chose to bless him outside of church because we have lots of friends in the area, and we didn't want to pull them away from their families on Mother's Day. And because we blessed him in a home setting, we were also able to have my mom in Seattle join via Skype, which was wonderful because she made Charlie's blessing outfit. He looked so handsome and was perfectly behaved during the blessing.

We were so blessed to have such great family and friends there to support us. What an amazing group of fathers, sons, brothers, and husbands!

And we made sure to also take a picture of him in the blessing outfit that was made by my Grandma Lambert that all her boys and several other grandsons/great grandsons have worn. Here is a picture of Davey wearing the same outfit on the day he was blessed.

To Idaho and Back

Just four days after returning from Washington, we packed our car again for a weekend trip to the Idaho Fall area for little Amelia's baby blessing. Davey was not happy to be back in his car seat, especially since our 3.5 hour drive turned into 6 hours due to weather and traffic, but we survived the travel and are glad we went. All the Howes, minus Amy and Emma, were able to come and it was so good to see everyone.

We spent Saturday at the ranch house in Swan Valley where they have the perfect sledding hill. It was well below freezing and even the effort of climbing the huge hill couldn't warm me up enough to stay out very long. It was very fun, although Sophie had a bad wipe out and might tell you otherwise. That evening we ate a delicious dinner at Big Judd's, played games, and watched the Seahawks beat the Lions to advance to the next round of the playoffs. Then Sunday came and we went to the blessing before heading back home.

Davey meeting Amelia. She is 8 months younger and will be his closest cousin in age. He was very interested in her binky, even though he has never taken one, and kept trying to steal it.

I did not bring snow gear, but the ranch house had lots of 80s vintage stuff to borrow. You can't tell from the pic, but I found an awesome one piece to wear!

Sophie was WORN out. By the time dinner rolled around she could barely function. After eating a few bites, she asked if she could leave so she could go take a nap. Poor girl :(

The mostly happy Howe family - baby Amelia evened out the numbers so the grand kids are at 4 girls and 4 boys

Blessing Day for Davey

David William Howe was blessed last Sunday at church. My mom made the dress that Sophie was blessed in, so I thought it would be special if Dave's mom made the outfit Davey would be blessed in. She did an amazing job and even made the little tie that I asked for - he looked so handsome!

My Little Man

We were lucky to have so much family in town to celebrate with us. My dad, my father-in-law, my grandpa, Brodie, Derek and Jeremy were able to be in the circle, and my sister Natalie wrote down part of the blessing, which is great because I don't remember anything from Sophie's blessing and I'm a little sad about it. Afterwards we had a brunch at our house. Dave and my mother-in-law made an egg, cheese, sausage and hash brown concoction in the crock pot that everyone really enjoyed - a Pinterest success!

A fruit rainbow made by my mom. We also had cinnamon rolls, the egg casserole, and juice - yum!

And just for fun we also took a picture of him in the blessing outfit worn by my dad as a baby. It was a little see through, but I'm guessing my grandma didn't have to worry about covering up a Mickey Mouse diaper back then :)
