January marks the start of a new year and the return to normal after Christmas Break. It's a long, sort of dreary month, but we always manage to stay plenty busy. Here are some pictures of what we were up to:
Sophie normally misses the first Friday program at the Discovery Center because she's in school, but this time she was still on Christmas Break!
Some more of the Discovery Center gang, minus Charlie
Checking out his new haircut in the mirror. He approves!
The motor to our dryer was starting to give out. We had bought the dryer used and moved it with us from Utah to Texas so we knew it wouldn't last forever, but it always hurts a bit when you have to buy a replacement. The kids had fun in the big box though!
This handsome dude was trying to convince me he needed to brush his teeth for the third time
I saw online that you could make donuts in an air fryer using biscuit dough. We gave it a try and the kids loved them! They were a quick and easy treat we will make again sometime.
Sophie lost another tooth and left this cute note for the Tooth Fairy
The kids and I went "treasure hunting" at Walmart to spend the $5 that GG grandma sent them for Christmas. They know if we wait until about a month after the holidays, everything gets marked down super cheap and they can stretch their dolllars further. This year Sophie got a couple craft sets and Davey got some Jurassic World dinosaurs.
Burning off some energy at the mall playground
Ice cream at Braum's for doing good on chores
When your favorite cereal goes on super sale you need to stock up - we bought out two stores!
Charlie loves to play with his Thomas MINI trains
Normally we bathe the boys and Sophie separate, but sometimes they all three end up in the tub together and when they do it's a party and the supervisor is guaranteed to get a little wet.
The library has EPIC story time (three stories + a related craft) twice a month after school. We love the library and try to attend whenever we can. The January themes were Octopuses and Caterpillars.
Davey's octopus was both sad looking and cute at the same time
Making hungry caterpillars
Some crazy static hair from the trampoline!
The backyard is Charlie's happy place. He asks to go outside all the time and will be so glad when sunny days start happening more frequently as spring comes.
Enjoying a really nice day at the park
