The genius that I am

After making a very comprehensive shopping list, I stuck it in the back pocket of my pants. Then I changed clothes before going to the store.

And while browsing the aisles of a Walmart superstore is good exercise, it's not a very effective way to shop. I will be going back to the store again very soon :)

So you may have heard of "Wordle" (because I'm slow when it comes to cool things on the Internet), but if you haven't, head over here to check it out!

All you do is choose any piece of text and enter it into the box. Wordle then generates a "cloud" where words are size based on frequency of use. Then you can customize the colors, font, shape, etc... to make it look how you want.

I fed The Family: A Proclamation to the World into Wordle and love how it looks. Now go forth and create your own!

A Little on the Short Side

Last night Dave gave me a haircut. He's been my stylist for the past couple years and things generally work out ok, but this last cut was quite a bit shorter than I wanted. Dave blames it on bad scissors; I blame it on his misconception of how big an inch is. Whatever the reason, my hair is now about 4 inches shorter than it was the day before - oops.

There were also some issues with evenness that we didn't discover until about 10 minutes before Stake Conference. Everything looks good now, but I wasn't too sad that we had to sit in the back in the dark :)

Since I'm trying not to dwell on all the reasons I don't like my hair short, I've come up with a few good things about this new cut: it will take less shampoo to wash my hair, it will dry more quickly & be easier to straighten. All that means we will save money on shampoo and I can sleep in a bit in the morning!

BYU vs. UW

About 8 months ago we were considering two schools for an MBA program: BYU and UW. Dave applied to both, interviewed at both, and was accepted by both. In the end we choose BYU and at Saturday's game, we received confirmation that we made the right choice.
